Seeking Commercial professionals to support a fast-paced and high-impact areas within Defence.
This particular division leads policy direction and program delivery that strengthens Australia’s engagement across the Pacific region. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement and contracting activities across the full lifecycle-from planning and approvals to evaluation, negotiation, award, and execution.
- Prepare and review high-quality commercial documentation, including approval briefs, tender packs, evaluation plans, negotiation strategies, and contract variations.
- Provide specialist procurement and commercial advice to program and project teams to enable compliant, timely, value-for-money outcomes.
- Coordinate with Commercial, Legal, procurement, and technical stakeholders to progress procurement and contract workstreams.
- Lead commercial components of tender evaluations and negotiations, including supplier engagement, clarifications, and risk assessments.
- Negotiate contract terms, amendments, extensions, and change requests in alignment with Commonwealth frameworks.
- Support Contract Managers with performance oversight, vendor issues, obligations, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure all procurement and contract activities meet legislative, regulatory, probity, and financial management requirements.
- Provide vendor and supplier management support, ensuring clear communication and alignment to deliverables.
- Build capability within APS staff through coaching, guidance, and process documentation.
- Contribute to planning and coordination of procurement work packages, with project management skills considered beneficial.
